I believe clouds are one of God’s most beautiful creations. Since my last post there have been many rainy cloudy days but also days of sunshine and blessing! God has been blessing abundantly for weeks now! I would like to share some amazing things He has done that I never dreamed or expected! There are so many I will just “list a few”.
The third week of April we were privileged to go to The Southern Gospel Convention where we spent a wonderful week with my brother, Ted and his wife, Debbie. It was a week of great music and speakers. Definitely a spiritual mountain top experience! No clouds there! Even before getting to the convention, we were able to spend a couple of days with Heather, Randy, April and Shayne. God provided in an unexpected way as our room expenses were completely covered by the motel points system.
Last week I flew to New Jersey to Michael and Sammie’s home. My daughter, Lisa and her husband, Wayne, flew in from Chicago. We were all there for their graduation in Connecticut the day before Mother’s day. That itself is a major blessing. They both graduated with honors!
That week is where I really saw clouds! The flight to New Jersey was amazing. I love flying! Once up in the air as the plane rises about the clouds I can look through them or down on them. It is a breathtaking experience. I took lots of pictures of the clouds on the flight home. Simply amazing!
The first three days of our visit we had rain and clouds but that didn’t dampen our spirits. Being all together after over a year was a time of joy! But then even more blessings began to come, one right after the other!
The kids had reserved a rental car so we could all travel together to Connecticut for the graduation. On Thursday the rental company called to see if we would be willing to get the car a day early at no extra charge and it would be a large Suburban. Oh so willingly we said yes! Again, God provided unexpectedly.
Wayne had not planned to walk across the stage but once there they had a registration card ready for him and encouraged him to walk but also stated his name would not be in the program. So he walked and his name was there after all! The weather was rainy and cloudy on graduation day but we were blessed safe travel on those crazy northern roads and great seats under the tent that had been set up for the graduation.
It was also Sammie and Michael’s 5th wedding anniversary! Another reason to celebrate! As much as they all planned and prepared for this special week there was no thought of reservations for dinner that evening. We walked about a mile in a very “shady” area finding nothing suitable to eat. Once safely back at the motel we decided to just eat there. Their first question was did we make a reservation. Our answer was no. However, God had other plans for this graduation/anniversary celebration. They put us in a private room. Sat it up as we stood there watching. We were waited on like royalty. The food was wonderful! Service was great! No clouds there either, just wonder at another one of God’s surprises.
On the way home to New Jersey on Mother’s Day, we again had no reservations and the wait was 45 minutes at a Mexican restaurant. However, they were able to go ahead and seat us together in the corner of the room immediately. Again, great food and great service! God was totally in charge of the weekend!
This is just a sample of how God worked in mysterious ways even on the cloudy days. Not everything has come up roses these last few weeks but looking at it from God’s perspective, it certainly proved God is in control, rain or shine, clouds or no clouds. Just look for the blessings. They are abundantly given by God daily. Keep your eyes on the Son, He shines through the clouds!
Matthew 6:8b New Living Translation (NLT)
For your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
Psalm 126:3 New Living Translation (NLT)
3 Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us!
What joy!
What joy!
Psalm 118:23-24 New Living Translation (NLT)
23 This is the Lord’s doing,
and it is wonderful to see.
24 This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
and it is wonderful to see.
24 This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
What wonderful blessings.God wears enjoying blessing you so that you could bless others.
